Johnson Kayode Obembe Joins AEC to Drive Stakeholder Engagement

As Director, Kayode brings to the position years of experience in stakeholder engagement.

Johnson Kayode Obembe, a former Africa Oil Week employee, has been appointed Director at the African Energy Chamber (AEC) – a platform which represents the voice of the African energy sector. In this capacity, he is tasked with strengthening stakeholder engagement for the Chamber globally and will support the organization in its commitment to make energy poverty history by 2030.

Obembe joins a team of experienced professionals focused on increasing investments across the African energy sector and its value chain. An accomplished business development professional with over two decades experience in the energy sector, Obembe offers a depth of expertise that will support the AEC achieve its objectives. As Director, Obembe will lead multiple stakeholder engagement initiatives, as well as initiatives designed to facilitate foreign direct investment into African energy markets. Obembe will leverage his experience across various global energy markets, including Namibia, Ghana, Nigeria, Angola, Europe, US and UK, to facilitate the growth of the AEC agenda to eradicate energy poverty and drive fresh investments across the African energy sector.

As an energy advocacy group, the AEC is committed to the development of the African energy sector, facilitating dialogue and deals across both mature and emerging energy producers continent-wide. With collaboration at the forefront, the AEC brings governments and businesses together to maximize commercial prospects and drive strategic projects across the African energy sector. As Director, Obembe will support this agenda by strengthening stakeholder engagement and promoting partnerships across the global industry.
