RC Macha Urges Beneficiaries of 10% Municipal Loans to Repay on Time

Regional Commissioner (RC) Macha has called on beneficiaries of the 10% municipal loan fund to ensure timely repayment so that other groups can also benefit. He emphasized that these loans, intended to support women, youth, and people with disabilities, must be repaid as per the agreed terms to sustain the program and enable continuous funding for new applicants.

These remarks were made today, February 13, 2025, during a ceremony to present a symbolic cheque worth TZS 587.5 million to the beneficiary groups. The event, held at the Kishapu District Council grounds, was attended by various leaders, including Kishapu District Commissioner Hon. Victor Masindi, political party leaders, and experts led by Kishapu District Executive Secretary Ms. Fatma Mohamed, as well as members of the public.

"Along with congratulating you on this achievement, I urge you to ensure that you repay these loans on time so that the government can extend the same support to other groups. Ultimately, this will help us achieve the intended goal for both the government and the citizens as a whole," said RC Macha.

This follows a review conducted by the Municipal Loan Services Committee at the district level, which involved verifying documents submitted by the applicant groups. Subsequently, an inspection tour of the projects was carried out to assess their feasibility. Later, evaluation meetings were held by the committee together with the Management Team, which found no issues of concern and approved the disbursement of the loans.

The Kishapu District Council has allocated approximately TZS 726.8 million for lending to groups. The loan application window received submissions from 162 groups, including 102 women's groups, 54 youth groups, and 6 groups of people with disabilities. In the first phase, loans were issued to 59 groups—35 for women, 22 for youth, and 2 for people with disabilities. RC Macha urged the beneficiaries to use the funds responsibly to achieve the government's intended objectives.
