The Regional Commissioner of Shinyanga, Annamlingi Macha, has stated that the Samia Clinic for Teachers has come at the right time to address teachers' challenges by involving institutions that directly deal with them.
Speaking at the launch of the Samia Clinic for Teachers in Shinyanga, Macha emphasized that the clinic provides a platform for resolving teachers' issues, ensuring they work in a stress-free environment.
He noted that these challenges will be resolved since relevant institutions are directly involved, and any pending claims will be addressed with proper guidance.
Additionally, Macha encouraged teachers to explore income-generating activities that do not interfere with their teaching duties. He advised them against taking high-interest loans when financial institutions offer lower interest rates, which they can use to invest in sustainable businesses.
The Vice President of the Tanzania Teachers' Union (CWT), Mwalimu Seleman Ikomba, stated that the Samia Clinic is being coordinated to address teachers' concerns effectively.
He warned that human resource officers delaying teachers' claims would be dealt with directly to ensure teachers receive their rightful payments.
Ikomba added that since its inception, the Samia Clinic has yielded significant results, as teachers receive direct assistance from a team of officials from five different institutions that rotate within the clinic.
Mwalimu Policapy Muchunguzi praised the Samia Clinic for offering direct services from institutions responsible for teachers' affairs.
He advised teachers who have not yet accessed the clinic to prepare their claim documents in advance to ensure smooth processing.
